Kara Shelton joined CST Group in 2015 and became partner in 2024. She has more than 20 years of experience in public accounting and specializes in assurance and management advisory services for non-profit organizations and closely held businesses, including construction, real estate and government contractors. Kara ensures the effective execution of her audit and review engagements, providing her clients with high-level technical expertise. She also serves as a technical resource for consulting engagements, assisting with audit readiness, financial planning, budgeting and forecasting, design and implementation of internal controls, and providing support to key members of management and reporting to board members.
Kara served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Tysons Regional Chamber of Commerce and is a past chair of its Women’s Leadership Council. She is also a past member of the Board of Directors and Community Service Committee Chair for the CREW Maryland Suburban. Kara is an active volunteer with Lucky Dog Animal Rescue.
Kara holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Delaware. She is a licensed CPA in Virginia, Maryland and Delaware.
