In 2014, CST Group set out to make “casual Fridays” a little more meaningful and from there, Jeans for Charity was born. On Fridays our employees can choose to wear jeans and donate $5 or more to a local nonprofit organization which is selected by our staff. Our employees nominate organizations they want to help, and each month a new one is chosen. The Lamb Center in Fairfax, Virginia was chosen for the month of June.
The Lamb Center helps individuals experiencing chronic homelessness to get back on their feet by providing them with meals, showers, clean laundry, counseling and employment assistance. Over 60,000 people living in Fairfax County live below the poverty level and a staggering 90,000 25+ year olds living in Fairfax did not graduate from high school. These numbers show a serious need in our community. As low income and low education can be contributing factors to homelessness, we appreciate the impact that The Lamb Center is making on our community.
