How did you get started in accounting?
While obtaining my bachelor’s degree at WVU, I took some accounting courses, which were prerequisites for my degree in Business Administration. I did really well in these courses and found them to be quite interesting. My grandfather was an accountant who had a very successful career so I decided I would follow his footsteps. Once I completed my degree, I later enrolled into the Master of Professional Accountancy program and I haven’t looked back since!

What was your first accounting job?
While working on my master’s degree, I obtained an internship with the USDA in their Rural Business Cooperative Service division. I worked with the processing of business loan payments and analyzing businesses and non-profits to determine eligibility for federal programs.

How long have you been doing what you do?
A little more than 8 years.

What are you most passionate about professionally?
Developing relationships and building trust with our clients.

Where can we find you when you’re not working?
I would likely be at home spending good quality time with my wife and my 9-month-old daughter.

Where were you born?
Charleston, WV

What is your favorite place to go on vacation?
The Outer Banks of North Carolina

What is your favorite sports team and why?
The West Virginia Mountaineers. Both of my parents, my brother, and myself are all WVU alums and I have been a Mountaineer fan my whole life.
