It is with great pleasure that we introduce our newest partners, Melissa Flieg, Daniel Keaton and Kara Shelton.
Melissa has been with CST Group for just over eleven years. Melissa’s expertise includes preparing and reviewing complex tax returns for a wide variety of clients including government contractors, technology companies, professional service providers, family partnerships, and high net worth individuals. Melissa specializes in working with clients that have stock options and is a trusted advisor to help her clients develop innovative tax saving strategies.
Melissa holds a Masters of Tax and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from the University of Missouri – Columbia and is a licensed CPA in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Melissa volunteers as a member of the VSCPA’s Tax Advisory Committee.

Daniel joined CST Group in 2014 and has more than 17 years of professional accounting experience working with clients across a wide range of industries including non-profit, professional service, employee benefit plans, educational institutions, government contracting, and construction. He specializes in overseeing assurance engagements, which includes financial statement audits, reviews, and compilations. In addition, he has helped his nonprofit clients prepare the Form 990, 990-T, and Form 990-PF.
Daniel holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Administration and a Masters in Professional Accountancy degree from West Virginia University. Daniel is also a licensed CPA in the Commonwealth of Virginia. He lives in Ashburn, VA and enjoys spending his spare time with his wife and three daughters. His hobbies include golf, running, biking, coaching his kids’ sports teams, as well as following West Virginia University athletics.

Kara joined CST Group in 2015 and has over 20 years of experience in public accounting. She specializes in assurance and management advisory services for non-profit organizations and closely held businesses, including construction, real estate and government contractors. Kara serves as a trusted technical resource for her clients.
Kara holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Delaware. She is a licensed CPA in Virginia, Maryland, and Delaware. Kara is an active volunteer with Lucky Dog Animal Rescue.
